P3D2.1 and Nvidia Surround issue

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Prepar3D 2.1 will not run on my computer via Nvidia Surround.

My Computer Setup
------------------------
Processor: I7 X980
Processor Speed:  3.33GHz
RAM: Corsair DDR3 Memory 2000MHz (7-8-7-20)
Video Board Manufacturer: EVGA Signature Series
Video Board Model: GeForce GTX690
Video Memory: 4096
Mother Board: ASUS
Hard Drives:  2 Intel SSDs & 2 10,000 RPM SATA Drives
Monitors: 3 Samsung SyncMaster T260HD Monitors (5760x1200x32)

Tried hyper-treading both on and off, same problem as shown below. I also tried various video drivers, it all ends the same.... with a system reboot.

My Operating System
--------------------------
Windows 7 (64bit)
Nvidia Drivers: 334.89 (WHQL)

This is a new install of Windows 7 64 bit, with all windows updates included. Nothing else is on this system except Prepar3Dv2.1.

If I try and run P3D2.1 via Nvidia's surround (by accessing Nvidia's Control Panel) - (5760x1200x32 - three monitors), P3D2.1 (after loading) goes to a black screen, I hear a buzzing type sound as though P3D is locked up. Then the computer reboots itself.

If I run P3D2.1 via Nvidia's all monitors active (by accessing Nvidia's Control Panel) and then stretch the program to fit all three screens P3D2.1 works just fine.

Strange. I'm running surround as well but not having any problems. I don't think P3D2 is truly a full screen app all they do is make it borderless or with a window frame. but I agree it's not as good without surround as you loose the option for bezel correction  and I think you take an FPS hit. Did you try to run P3D before enabling the Nvidia surround? might need to delete the prepar3d.cfg and try again.

Hi,

It runs fine when I run via "all monitors active" (by accessing Nvidia's Control Panel) and then stretch the program to fit all three screens. It only happens when I use surround.

Without Surround, I take an FPS hit and I don't have access to bezel control.

Also working fine here since install. Rebuilding the cfg seems the first things to try...
