Wrong Atis from RC 4.3

Featured Replies

Hello..

Hope someone can help me.. :)

Using Active sky next - Weather is loaded into the sim,

But the Atis information is not the same, ASN and FSX ATIS is the same, but a little difference to the RC 4.3 .. ALL is installed on same computer...

RC 4.3 different qnh , clouds and visibilty, wind...

???

Chris from Denmark :)

Chris,

I use ASNext and have not come across this.

Just out of interest ,when do you start ASN and when do you check the ATIS.ASN may need to be refreshed as its timing can lag a little.

Nothing with RC4.3 should cause this so you should raise it with the ASN folks

I start ASN , fsx..and after some minutes RC.

Maybe a reinstall of RC could do the difference..

A reinstall of RC is not necessary. Make sure fsuipc is current from:

http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules/

Please read the pinned topic on FSX/ASE users to get some background. When RC requests ATIS when an FSX AS weather app is active, it reports from the AS METAR as opposed to getting the surface weather ferom FS. That is an attempt to get around the SimConnect restriction of requiring Global Weather Mode in AS when DWC is enabled. I don't know if ASN offers any improvement.

Also, to aid in ai stability for RC selecting the correct approach runway based on stable ai activity, some users enable destination weather lock so duting the approach phase weather at destination is not constantly changing due to Global Weather forcing destination weather to the surface conditions under the approaching aircraft. See if that option is used or available in ASN.

Hi,

The original poster was correct,in that it is hit or miss if you get the correct ATIS with RC and ASN.

My own thoughts on this is ,since ASN uses three frequencies for ATIS(dependant on what you want to hear ),this causes RCs own ATIS to report incorrect winds on many occasions.

You can get around this problem by taking over the radio tuning yourself using the ASN frequency which you require, and, if RC is giving you an incorrect r runway, using IAP mode you can then request the correct one.

The strange thing is that the departure ATIS is always correct.
