February 28, 201412 yr Hello. I have had a problem come up lately. Out of no where. If I were to load the sim, get into an aircraft, then click out of the sim (to play music or start avcars), I would go back to the sim, and it would not detect my controllers. (Saitek x52 pro w/ rudder) Under the control setting, they wouldn't show up. As if they weren't plugged in, but they were. Anyone got an idea on a fix? Thanks. -Valley.

March 1, 201412 yr What do you mean by that? You can either configure your controller from within FSX itself (the controller setup page) or you can delete all the buttons and axis assignments for your controller in FSX (the same controller setup page) and then use FSUIPC to reassign all the buttons and axes. If you install the payware version of FSUIPC, it shows up as a menu entry in the FSX menu. When you click on that entry, you will get a window with a bunch of tabs. You will see the axis and buttons tabs. There is also a joystick calibration tab. Make sure that you read the FSUIPC users guide.
March 1, 201412 yr As the man says, you need do more than just install FSUIPC. If you use it to control your controllers, you will not lose them again. I have used it in Windows 8 and now 8.1 and it is the only fix that actually works. No doubt others will tell you different, which is why, despite this answer being given in post 5, the Avsim Joystick disconnection thread is now 712 posts long, Regards, Nick
