March 1, 201412 yr Great shots ! I'm glad to see more and more FlightGear shots. - It was (long before X-Plane) the 1st 64-bit flight simulator. - It's the sim with the best license (GPL): no company, no government, no shareholder will be able to stop future evolutions and improvements by the community. - It supports a lot of operating systems. - Default features are already amazing and leave some (now very old) commercial flight simulators in the dust. March 1, 201412 yr Author Very true MdMax, and although I have been closely following it's evolution, it was Rembrandt and the latest advances in the Weather modeling and engine that have finally hooked me to it :-) I am discovering aircraft that I didn't even know about, like this amazing, detailed Tu-154, but also the DR-400 ( again by a French team ;-) ) which is a joy to fly! The new scenery - v2 - and osgEarth, not being ( yet )) up to the level of what we can get in x-plane or fsx, are more than good for my type of simming. And yes, yet another great advantage - multiplatform! When I read some posts about those who look forward for 64 bit simulators, I wonder if they are even aware of Flight Gear. Having a GREAT time with this simulator! March 1, 201412 yr It's not french team? Model is from Project Tupolev Tu-154B-2. But the ones who ported it, might be.
