EDIT: I run in windowed mode.  It probably doesn't do anything in full screen mode.

 

I run in full screen mode, so i won't get too worked up about this one. Thanks Gregg.

If Aero isn't running then neither is vsync.

 

Shutting down Aero was a fix for some bug in Vista that was later fixed but since FSX was abandoned obviously the code for FSX never was ( but it is in P3D and P3D doesn't shut down aero)  An annoying side effect is the screen flashing as aero shuts down every time you start FSX.

 

There is a fix that doesnt require annoying batch files or anything else. This will leave aero alone and not disable it and doesn't require you to do anything special

Give it a try it's free and it's very often overlooked. The guy that made it is reputable he created the P3D migration tool..

Probably why I see screen tearing when I'm windowed. Vsync works in full screen though without aero (at least that's my experience).
