My DX10 setting is 8xCSAA in the DX10 Fixer control panel and I have good performance. But my graphics were better with 8xAA (obviously). I do not make any manual changes to my fsx.cfg file.

Can anybody suggest something I could do to improve graphics quality in my NVI settings (attached)

Thanks

The very reason that Microsoft placed a configuration file in the FSX application is to allow the user to compensate and enhance their "FSX Experience". By doing this Microsoft has enabled us to continue to get the best out of FSX as the new and faster breeds of processors have been released, and similarly, with those much more capable graphics cards that are now available. This has ensured that FSX will have a long life - and as it's in it ninth year - I would say they were pretty successful - wouldn't you!

All the Best,

pj

I would totally agree. My point is that I feel that my FSX.cfg is tuned optimally. I am just trying to spice up my graphics a tad without sacrificing the performance I get with 8xCSAA.

By the way Paul, looks like your attachments in the pinned topic at the DX10 tips forum have stopped working.

Thanks

Nope - they are fine, Brzl. The testing pics is gone ( I note there are Inspector setting there now! - but I can't change this.

The DX10 compatible Airports is still there, but it was allowed to float down, was not in the format I wanted, and so we don't have any kind of "airport blacklist". However - as the Fixer has improved by leaps and bounds - I don't know of any airport which may be considered incompatible.

You may try clearing your browser cache, Brzl, as this last server downtime has messed up the dates/times, and those things all need to be in synch for browsing to be correct.

All the Best,

pj
