March 19, 201412 yr Well Wilco published the Feelthere developed EMB 170 and 190 aircraft. They fly, without ANY modification, in FS9, FSX and both Prepar3D's. I'd say that's pretty good value folks. Yes but feelThere developed aircraft are just that ......... ---> developed by feelThere, not Wilco. Most feelThere developed aircraft are great - no arguments there. But the Wilco TBM850 is nothing whatsoever to do with feelThere......... so I don't really understand your point. The TBM850 is developed 'in house' by Wilco, and if you look at the track record of in-house developed Wilco products (search 'wilco crj' on AVSIM  ), you will see reports of major problems and bugs, none of which are ever resolved. Seeing some people on this thread recommending the Wilco TBM is just a mystery to me. We all have our opinions and viewpoints of course, but seeing someone rave about this product is a little like staring at a blue painted wall, with a crowd of people, and one guy in the middle claiming "It's blue... the wall is blue". Buy this product at will, if you wish to take the risk....... after all, that;s what I did. Ignored other people's reports and wasted my money on it. Frame rates are appalling, the Autopilot and Flight Director systems (just as in their CRJ) don't work properly at all, and well, I personally just could not get this one off my HD quick enough. But we are looking for a particular Wilco product - not the history of the company. Did you try actual try it?. What are you talking about? The guy asked why I felt that the TBM850 was my worst ever FS purchase and rather than write all the reasons down again, I suggested he search AVSIM under this product name. I don't understand your problem with this......... but whatever. This is the strangest thread I've read on AVSIM in a long time. It's as if those of us who have actually BOUGHT this product are having to give cast iron evidence of how bad it is, and are being doubted at every corner. Buy it - don't buy it - love it - hate it ........ it's your call.
March 19, 201412 yr It appears that, like most everything else in FSX (or related), there is indeterminate/non-deterministic behavior for a given product, where a model is total crap on one system while on another it is just fine. I fall in the "fine" camp, and very much enjoy the Wilco TBM850. I don't have problems with frame rates, it "operates" better than my Carenado version, although I have not bothered to do a side-by-side comparison, and I find it more enjoyable to fly. Not as "pretty" as the Carenado, but no slouch in the looks department either. I submitted a problem report yesterday (oil temp is always pegged), and got a response this morning (albeit an acknowledgement, not a fix), so it appears, at least to me, that the legendary lack of product support is not a problem for me. I am "fine". Go figure, eh? I wrote a review of the Wilco TBM850 in the Member Reviews section if anybody want more information. Not quite a review of Ray's caliber, but it is a review.
