March 19, 201412 yr Hi, Quick question, haven't found an answer Googling this: I sometimes get hangs (Windows greyed out, (Not Responding) shows up... Windows 8.1., happens with or without old Vista uiautomationcore.dll in FSX directory) when i'm trying to load a flight plan from the Free Flight screen. It _feels_ like the hang that happens in the Add-On Scenery interface, where you have to click outside the window before hitting okay on any PC using Win7 onwards -- -- but unlike that situation, neither waiting nor clicking in an equivalent spot causes things to resolve. Have to exit FSX and restart. Any hints on what's going on here? Steve

March 19, 201412 yr Any hints on what's going on here? The video only applies to Windows 7. No problems with Windows 8 adding scenery. This problem is only with Windows 7. If you are having problems adding scenery, download SceneryConfigEditor - http://sourceforge.net/projects/fs-sceditor/. It will even allow those with Windows 7 to easily add scenery. Plus you can enable/disable sceneries even before you start FSX. Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! March 19, 201412 yr Author Hi Jim, Thanks -- I run into that video's same problem on Windows 8.1, oddly enough. This is a different (and more minor) issue, I just find that my standard FSX Load Flight Plan window sometimes tells me to go hang. Will figure it out, I continue my search.
March 29, 201412 yr Author Update: turned out I had some .pdf files in the folder that Win8.1 probably had a security panic attack over when entering the folder via FSX. .PDFs removed and problem is gone.
