March 24, 201412 yr Hi there! Because of the many positive reviews and the beautiful pics and videos featuring DX10, I decided to buy Steve´s DX10 fixer today. I am on my first test flight right now, everything is working fine so far (including the beautiful VC shadows), but somehow, my water looks really strange and there seems to be no animation of waves at all. The setting within FSX is high 2x. Please have a look: http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o215/schmeichel75eichel75/2014-3-24_22-40-2-35_zps1277514e.jpg

March 24, 201412 yr do you have rex installed? if not then it looks normal depending on what part of the world that is....or what body of water it is.... if you do have rex installed then try re installing ur textures Oh no! Sure, I have REX Essentials installed and I haven´t reinstalled the default textures before I switched to DX10.
March 24, 201412 yr Oh no! Sure, I have REX Essentials installed and I haven´t reinstalled the default textures before I switched to DX10. No I mean reinsyall the rex textures not the default textures....its not required when switching from dx9 tp dx10 but for somereason it maybe the cause
March 24, 201412 yr No I mean reinsyall the rex textures not the default textures....its not required when switching from dx9 tp dx10 but for somereason it maybe the cause Okay, I´ll give it a try as soon as I land.
March 25, 201412 yr I totally forgot that I use FS Water Configurator which changes the water shaders. the results in DX9 were great, maybe it leads to problems in DX10 now?
March 25, 201412 yr Did you try unchecking DX10 and water animations in the Rex configuration? (Sorry not beside the PC,so can't show exactly). Jude BradleyBeech Baron: Uh, Tower, verify you want me to taxi in front of the 747?ATC: Yeah, it's OK. He's not hungry. March 25, 201412 yr Did you try unchecking DX10 and water animations in the Rex configuration? (Sorry not beside the PC,so can't show exactly). Since I never used DX10 yet, I think all DX10 options within REX Essentials should be unchecked, but I'll have a look later!
March 25, 201412 yr I unchecked "water animations" and DX 10 optimization, checked either one, checked both, but it is always the same result:
March 25, 201412 yr Did you have when using dx9 bojotes shader 3 installed? If yes remove it with dx10 it causes problems.
March 25, 201412 yr I had a lot of water issues when I used REX water textures. I wasn't happy with the animation at all. I took Paul's advice and installed the water animation called "Frequency" from AS2012, and I disabled the water shader in Steve's DX10 Fixer. Excellent water animation. Don't know if you have AS2012. If you do, you might want to give it a shot. I haven't gone through all the REX water yet, but from the ones I tried, I wasn't satisfied. Nature Boy
March 25, 201412 yr Thanks for all your answers! I just restored the default FSX textures, and combined with Steven´s DX10 water shaders, the water actually looks pretty nice now. I just bought REX 4 Texture Direct, maybe I´ll give These water textures a try anytime soon.
