March 28, 201412 yr Author Thank you very much N60JBravo, and all the rest of the responders, I finally figured that out, open the FSX config file with Notebook and made the changes. I am pleasantly surprised how fast one can get responses on Avsim to help software illiterates like my self. Brian Curtis Vietnam Huey Pilot
March 28, 201412 yr Hello: One can find the "active" FSX.Cfg file in Windows 7 at: C:\Users\[user profile name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX After editing FSX.Cfg file in Windows NotePad: 1.) NotePad Menu > File > Save As (Save As dialog opens) 2.) In 'Save As' dialog: * 'File Name' = FSX.Cfg * 'Save As Type' = *.* (All Files) <-- allows ".Cfg" instead of default ".Txt" file extension CAVEAT: FSX will not read and implement changes made if file is saved as FSX.TXT; edited copy of FSX.Cfg must be saved as "Cfg" as file extension type ! :excl: 3.) Browse as needed to target folder of origin before clicking "Save" button: C:\Users\[user profile name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX Hope this greater detail helps with the learning process; Happy Flying ! GaryGB
