March 27, 201412 yr Hi I was originally going to put this in the general part of the forum but having tried all my other PMDG products(737,747,MD11,777) the problem seems only to be with the 777. The problem is I cannot get the autothrottle system to behave normally. I have found a workaround but this messes up my 4 eng aircraft . I have a registered copy of fsuipc and have all my settings setup through that, all work normally and behave as expected. My throttles move individually with autothrottle switches engaged dependant on type, etc for taxiing, and then increase when the hotspots or N1 speed reach the desired amount, all except for my 777. The only way that can get the throttles to work with this aircraft is switching off the autothrottle switches they then work ( I believe according to the tutorial ,that this is a non normal condition) I have found a work around by going into my fsx control options, and selecting the control axis and then assigning throttle 1 axis to my first throttle quadrant and then throttle 2 to my second throttle quadrant. The throttles then work as expected, BUT if I then decide to fly the PMDG 747 I have the problem that because fsuipc controls my throttles fine ie eng 1 and 2 on first throttle quad and eng 3 and 4 on the second quadrant.for this aircraft .If I do not go into my fsx axis settings and delete the no2 eng axis setting, I find that throttle 2 now controls throttles 2,3 and 4 instead of just 3 and 4. Any ideas on how I can get this aircraft to behave like my other PMDG products, so that I don't have to keep changing fsx axis settings? Forgot to say I'm using a Saitek Cessna yoke and throttle quadrant that come as a pack I hope that all makes sense, I would be interested to here how other people that have a similar setup, eg. Saitek throttle quadrant and fsuipc (reg) the PMDG 747 and PMDG 777 what their settings are. Thanks Pete Little
March 27, 201412 yr Hi Pete, Once again, I had the same issue but with PFC throttle quadrant and since I have deleted the throttle axis from fsx and configured them in "send direct to fsuipc calibration" without setting the calibration, they work for all the addons I use may they be any of PMDG or other developers. Have you tried that already? Romain Roux Avec l'avion, nous avons inventé la ligne droite. St Exupéry, Terre des hommes.
March 27, 201412 yr Pete That is the most likely culprit, go to FSX and delete all axis as far as your flight controls. If you have done this already, then go and recheck that something did not put them back. Everytime I run into this issue that is the first thing I do, because what is happening FSX and FSUIPC are competing as to who will control that. Ken
March 27, 201412 yr Author Hi Budbud Yes I tried them at send direct to fsuipc,it has made no difference it just seems to be this one aircraft,I think my next plan will be to go into fsuipc.ini and delete the whole 777 profile and start again. To see if that makes a difference,or not . There Is definitely something strange going on behind the scenes, as my ezedok camera's where not shaking despite being set to do so.But hey that another story ,got it fixed now anyway, just the autothrottle to go Thanks Hi Ken Unfortunately having the fsx axis installed is the only way I can get the throttles to work properly at the moment , If I delete the fsx axis inputs then my throttles refuse to increase power and remain at idle unless I turn off the autothrottle switches, then they work rgds Pete Little
March 27, 201412 yr Hi, Just to confirm, when you tried with the direct calibration, did you reset any calibration in the pages 1 of 11 and 3 of 11 of fsuipc (axis not processed displayed close to each axis)? Double check that no calibration is set on either page, it is important, otherwise it gets you with the idle issue again. At least it was what happened to me. But your case may be different of course. Romain Roux Avec l'avion, nous avons inventé la ligne droite. St Exupéry, Terre des hommes.
March 28, 201412 yr Author Hi Budbud Well it looks like that may have done the trick thanks,I didn't think I had those set ,but obviously I did. I have a little more testing between my other addons to make sure I've not screwed anything up,but it kinda looks ok as far as the 777 goes And I think the others were fine anyway So many thanks for Your advise rgds Pete Little
March 28, 201412 yr Glad that I have been able to help you. Have good flights with that beauty! Romain Roux Avec l'avion, nous avons inventé la ligne droite. St Exupéry, Terre des hommes.
