April 6, 201412 yr Wow! What scenery are you using? I heard FTX looks really good and doesn't contribute to OOMs. And are you using the Nvidia tweaks posted over at the PMDG forums? Thoriq Kamaruszaman, Potato Flier READ THE MANUALS.
April 7, 201412 yr Author Thanks guys! Appreciate it. What scenery did you use? How did you stop OOMS? Im using Aeorosft EHAM, FTX Global (latest Lib) & ORBX Vector. I suffer alot of OOM since few month and finally I decide to changes some config (fsx.cfg). MicrosoftFixit50496 After using it, I noticed there are a bit improvement on the VAS used. Usually on heavy photoreal + addon scenery + FTX Global + ORBX Vector, I will get around 5.4-.5.5 GB VAS and when you push it without restart your FSX, you'll get the OOM. No matter what's your computer spec is. So I use the fix and I got a bit improvement. Reduce the FSX Graphic settings If you use 3rd party addon for the cloud texture, make sure you will avoid the 4096 texture, I use 2046 (REX OD) instead . And of course, reduce your basic graphic settings, here is mine : Deactivate any of unrelated scenery Don't forget to to turn off (deactivate) all unused sceneries in the FSX when not flying them. It will save some VAS. You can use the scenery config editor (download here). Tweaking the fsx.cfg There are alot of opinion, tutorial, etc how to do it, but I will just give you several important section here : [GRAPHICS] HIGHMEMFIX=1 TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=2048 [bufferPools] UsePools=0 [Main] FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.15 [TERRAIN] TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_TREES_PER_CELL=800 TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_BUILDINGS_PER_CELL=1500 LOD_RADIUS=5.500000 -> You can change it to 4.5 if you experience OOM Memory Cleaner by Koshy John Basically this software uses functions built into Windows to judiciously free memory - with no performance impact. I always use it before start the preflight/ after landed and doing preflight for another flight. Simply click on the trim process and clear system cache. Well that's it, I hope it help! Achmad, can you share your fsx.cfg and your NI settings ? Hi Stephane, nice to see you here! Here is my config "click here", don't forget to backup your cfg first.
