MAKING WINGS VISIBLE??

Featured Replies

Hi all. There are some aircrafts that does not have the wings and engines modeled when you go to "VIRTUAL COCKPIT VIEW" and turn your "head" around. Is it possible to make those exterior modelled wings to become visible when viewing from inside the aircraft?? (like for example the PMDG

Greetings Johan! Not in all aircraft, but certainly in the bigger jet liners, the reason why you don't see wings and engines when you look back over your shoulder in the VC, is that in real life the pilot can't see them this way either. For viewing the wings/engines from positions inside the passengers cabin, and for general "walking around" in the aircraft, you'll need the ActiveCamera program you mentioned. But mind: ActiveCamera does not MAKE those views: they need to be part of the model, and only then can AC make you look at them from various positions.Be well!Jaap Verduijn.

The short answer is NO... They are either included in the model or they are not. You cannot "add them" without having the original source code...

"Not in all aircraft, but certainly in the bigger jet liners, the reason why you don't see wings and engines when you look back over your shoulder in the VC, is that in real life the pilot can't see them this way either."Not entirely true. I've sat in the left seat of many an airliner at various airshows, and all the pilots have to do is turn their head--even in a 747. Might get serious muscle strain doing so :) , but in most airliners, the pilots can see the wings and often look for signs of obvious icing. I recall an interesting exception--the B36--where supposedly the pilots could not see the wings from the cockpit.-John

An added thought...If you want to enjoy a BAE146 with wing views, a great option is Jon Murchinson's BAE-146...With most airliners, if you enjoy wing views there's always a substitute, there are models with wing views for the CRJ, ERJ, E-170, 707, 727, DC-10, MD-11, etc.... Kittyhawk, Project Opensky, SGA, and Dreamwings are just a handful of the many that provide them. For British Classic airliners, David Maltby has wing views included on all of his models (his BAC-111 and Comet are outstanding).Hope this helps...-John

John:Ok! Thanx for the tip! But the flight model in the payware is better.. Otherwise Jon
