Calculating take off and stopping distance

Featured Replies

Hello,

Was taking off from Cardiff today and wasn't sure how to calculate the length of runway required to get airborne and when stopping on roll out in Majorca and was wondering if there is an easy way of calculating this, allowing you to get a MTOW from the length of runway you are due to depart from.
Thanks very much

Conor

The 737ng dispatch sheet will do that for you. It's a free Excel sheet. Find it in the avsim file library. Version 4.95 is the latest. TOPCAT payware is also an option. It's a great tool but payware.

Thanks very much, I will check out both :)

If you buy PFPX with TopCat you get an excellent Flight Planning tool (PFPX) and an excellent Aircraft Performance tool (TopCat). Both packages work well together.

In addition to the items you mentioned above, TopCat will also provide de-rate temperatures as well to minimize engine wear. Also, provided are weight and balance calculations...........provides everything you need

These two S/W apps have really changed the way I fly the "big iron," it makes flight planning a breeze, however, there is a learning curve associate, but easily mastered.

The two major aircraft currently supported are the PMDG 737 NGX and the PMDG 777-200 (still in Beta phase last time I checked).
