April 23, 201412 yr Hi Friends - Need some help with the T7 FMC... Wanted to do these operations.. 1. How do I add TOD as a waypoint (custom) on the LEGS Page.. I can then utilize the FIX have some situational awareness specially around TOD...2. How do i deviate by certain degree from the LNAV route for certain distance and rejoin back the LNAV path - Is it possible to do this witn FMC wihoout using the HDG selector.. ? 3. How do I fly deviating by certain distance (lets say fly 30 NM devaited from the planned LNAV path for next 400 NM..). In essence fly parallel to the planned route but with an offset of say 30NM parallel to the route for the entire duration or to a certain distance... ? Some months back I saw a nic video in YouTube explaining these and few more tricks with FMC and I forgot to bookmark the same, thinking will recollect later and now I am drawing blank... I have till now read the introduction and Tutorial - 1 .. If these things are explained somewhere in FCOM or FCTM, i might have overlooked, pointers to that will also help... Regards Suvo... Regards, Suvo A firm landing in the TDZ is a good one, a smooth landing outside the TDZ is bad. A smooth touchdown is NOT the criterion for a safe landing

T/D is a flexible point on your path that the FMC adjusts as it sees fit due to the weather/wind picture, and constraints on the descent profile. The Cruise page (VNAV pages) shows you a time and distance from it. Use that. 2. How do i deviate by certain degree from the LNAV route for certain distance and rejoin back the LNAV path - Is it possible to do this witn FMC wihoout using the HDG selector.. ? No. Use HDG select. Why would you want to avoid using heading select to leave your LNAV route and then rejoin it? That doesn't make any sense. 3. In essence fly parallel to the planned route but with an offset of say 30NM parallel to the route for the entire duration or to a certain distance... ? Michael posted a video that should have you set in the post above. For future reference, these are called OFFSETs. Kyle Rodgers
