Hi folks... I have all kinds of issues with opus cameras and can't use ezdok. ....so Ooooohhhhhh

is there a way to adjust the eyepoint in the vc and keep it there as the default view so when the sim starts I don't need to adjust it using the standard keys?

Thanks guys

Yes, but the change to the VC camera will affect the vc eyepoint for all aircraft.

Under: [CameraDefinition.002]
Added this line:
InitialPbh = 7,0,0

[Note: the above tilts the viewpoint down 7 degrees (which is what works best for me)]
The format is: p,b,h [p=pitch, b=bank and h=heading (Positive pitch makes the camera look down and positive heading makes the camera look right.)]

There may be also be a way to move the camera forward/back, but I don't know the change for that.

Top man Arwen!

Will try that and see how it goes!

If you find out how to zoom in/out then that would be awesome!

Cheers again matey

Top woman, actually. :)

Zooms are easy,  Just set the zoom (using - = keys) you want to use (for each view) and save that with your default flight.  I usually just use 1X zoom with Wide-view aspect ratio checked, as that gives me the best perspective (landing when zoomed in/out is more difficult for me).

The eyepoint location can be set in the aircraft.cfg for a particular aircraft, example from the B58:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\beech_baron_58\aircraft.cfg

[Views]

eyepoint = -8.213, -0.80, 2.32 //Longitudinal, Lateral, Vertical (feet)

(the same for P3D)

I use the rocker button under the 8 point POV at left side of saitek yoke.  Just config. that button to keyboard assignments as per any other button. Backwards to set the eyepoint to default and forwards to take your eyepoint forwards. Press back again and you are instantly back at default point.

Don't forget that any manual adjustments to eyepoint position and direction are saved with any saved flight.
