May 3, 201412 yr I had installed P3D V2.0 thru 2.21 using patches and following other recommendations. I had an odd problem w/ FB's KSFO: when I used Global mode only and uninstalled KSFO, the default KSFO had road/house textures between the runways, as if maybe they were bleeding thru the default KSFO airport textures. I decide for a number of reason not related to this to completely uninstall and reinstall everything P3D. I'm reluctant to try reinstalling FB KSFO as it seemed a little harder on perf than I want to have, but then again I'm not sure if there was something amiss in my original, patched version of P3D. Can someone attest that it is possible to uninstall FB KSFO and have the default KSFO textures appear normally? Perhaps there is something I needed to do that I don't understand, maybe to do w/ sequencing textures in the scenery library? May 3, 201412 yr I have FB SFO and NCA as well as Global in and FB SFO works VERY very well... Global shouldn't have much to do with the area as it's underneath NCA. Safe to assume that you removed the NCA SFO ADE files etc? i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024

Safe to assume that you removed the NCA SFO ADE files etc? Nope I didn't maybe that's what was amiss. But I'm hoping to have my cake and eat it too: I want to be able to have FB KSFO when I am in Global mode only (i.e., not NCA), but when in Hybrid mode can have NCA's KSFO if that makes sense. Do you think that's possible? The whole question may be moot now that I have uninstalled everything and reinstalled the full version of 2.21, mesh, Global, etc. I did note last night the perf penalty for NCA in the Bay Area seems about what it was previously w/ FB KSFO installed, so the perceived impact from FB KSFO may be a red herring. May 3, 201412 yr Author KSFO HD Version2 will be released soon. If it's anything like KPHX HD, then ouch that will be harsh esp in the NCA region. I have FB SFO and NCA as well as Global in and FB SFO works VERY very well... Global shouldn't have much to do with the area as it's underneath NCA. Safe to assume that you removed the NCA SFO ADE files etc? Dave, can you do a quick test for me? Go into Global only i.e. no hybrid mode, and un-tick FB SFO and see what you find. Do you find the wrong textures (like houses/roads where taxiways should be, etc) appear as I did, or does it look like it should? May 3, 201412 yr OK, Global only i.e. no hybrid mode, with FB SFO disabled. SFO is covered in grass on top of the taxiways and runways. i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024
May 4, 201412 yr Author OK, Global only i.e. no hybrid mode, with FB SFO disabled. SFO is covered in grass on top of the taxiways and runways. Thank you Dave--good to know it wasn't my install. I think it should still be possible to use no hybrid mode but w/ FB SFO enabled and that should be OK for my criteria. I've come to the conclusion for the current state of P3D my best bet is to use Global only when flying in and out of bigger terminals and especially add-on terminals. This increases performance dramatically in the Bay Area for example, i.e. when Global only is used over hybrid. Typically I use these for the tube liners anyway where you're soon up high enough to where the detail from FTX regions isn't really appreciated so much, and use regions when flying smaller birds. I find the bay area for example is very quickly CPU bound when hybrid or full region is turned on.
