For the last year I have run into this problem and I get a bit annoyed by it.

 

Whenever I reboot my PC I have to re-calibrate the saitek yoke and re-assign the settings of buttons and switches in FSX.

 

Is there a simple solution or this? (even the solution that my FSX settings will be preserved after a reboot would greatly help)

Use Fsuipc for all your calibration and assignments, you can even unplug all your controls and FSuipc will remember everything.
