Simple fix for bouncing on landing

Looking at the video, everything looks just fine, I did not see any bounce, the minor fluctuations on the radio altimeter during rollout is normal.

Best regards

If you don't have any issues that is great. Myself and others definitely see a fault with the default static values. Nothing normal about the bouncing on the PMDG 777.  The fix above cures the issue.

Look at the time stamps mentioned (11:09, 11:12, 11:23) you can clearly see 3 strange jumps. Also not sure why you mention the Rad Alt? it doesn't fluctuate. If it did that would be completely unrealistic.

I had a "bump" on landing, was picked up in the ACARS software,as aircraft bounced 65ft. After watching the replay in fsrecorder aircraft didn't bounce at all.???

There is some info in the PMDG777 intro guide that the airplane migh bounce when mesh detall is set too high. I have had this bouncing while sitting at the gate and it stopped with changing the mesh resolution.

I think you guys should try that first before changing contact points!

Where in the intro manual did you find this bouncing? i have this often at any given airport when taxiing, but no solution yet.

The intro manual on page 17 says:'Note: See the section on aircraft “bouncing” on page 41 if you experience this with a mesh setting above 19m.'

Going to page 41 they talk about service based failures and wind data, but no bouncing?

Tried searching the document a few times with search but also no results.

Anybody have any help?

I don't really wanna make any changes to the contact points of the beauty without having tried the offical solutions first.

The contact change is extremely minor. It wouldn't surprise me if the error was an oversight on PMDG's part. It would be very easy to miss the additional '6' when they packaged the aircraft.  Just try it yourself, it works and has no affect on anything else.

I have done 5 flights now and the issue has vanished, touchdowns/rollout are normal & Smooth

It is on page 40 and can be found under Bounces (not bouncing), lol

gotta love these search features right!

this fix no longer works, but a best solution for me is to put the static cg height to 14.999. That way works so-so well. The issue still stands, but if you do not pull the nose too much on landing it works well. Also I suggest you turn off your auto rudder setting in P3D. That affects the speed lever in sim and gives bad results.
