Possible PMDG 737NGX Freezing Solution

Featured Replies

I figured it out!! After a full day of troubleshooting, I concluded that it has something to do with the latest version service pack 1C. I had an older version of PMDG 737 NGX on another machine that worked flawlessly, and when I loaded it on my new computer (homebuilt Intel i5 3.4Ghz, 8GB ram, AMD R9 270X,128GB SSD, Windows 8.1) I never saw any issues again. If you are having issues, try to find the base version 12.0.0. Only downside to the base version is your frame rate will go down a little bit, but hey, it's better that letting it crash your session. Tested wih REX Essentials + OD, and ORBX.

Hi Delta,

you resumed a very old thread, indeed...sorry for disappointing you, but I do not believe that not installing the Service Pack 1c of the NGX is your best solution. If PMDG released a Service Pack, they did it for a reason, that is stability, I would not fly it without the updated Service Pack. As a matter of fact, I am flying the NGX with the latest SP, in heavy weather and never have a freeze or a crash, so, yours is not a "solution" I would recommend anyone...

I split the OP's post off from a very old topic. I agree with Enrico. PMDG provides many suggestions for properly installing their products, like turning off User Access Control (UAC), disabling your anti-virus program, running the installations programs as the Administrator. I hope no one removes SP1c for the PMDG 737NGX from their installation.

We do appreciate your help trying to find solutions to CTD's encountered. Your "solution" to remove an SP has fixed problems for many here at AVSIM. You just forgot to add they reinstall the SP. Many members who have crashes have fixed them by uninstalling FSX SP2 and then reinstalling the SP2 or uninstalling Acceleration and then reinstalling Acceleration with Administrator Rights. You have a lot of security features built into Windows and sometimes these security features get in the way of properly installing an addon or application and that can cause problems.
