Will a sound card improve FPS? When switching from onboard audio

Featured Replies

Some people on the net have said that adding a dedicated sound card increases FPS by at least 5-10FPS by reducing CPU load is this true or BS? Sound cards are cheap and I wouldn't mind a 5 FPS boost.

Maybe in some other games, but for FSX I did not record any difference with the benchmark I did, sorry not 1 fps. I used a core3d soundblaster. Also unless you have very nice speakers hooked up, you wont notice a difference in sound either.
