Buying this new PC, how will it run!

Featured Replies

Hi all! It's time for an upgrade as I want to start to indulge in the full opportunities of flight simulation.

In about a week or two I will be purchasing the following:

Digital Storm ODE v3

Intel Core i5 4670k 3.40 GHz (OC to 4.4GHz)

ASUS H81M

Kingston HyperX 8GB-1600MhZ

600W Corsair CX600

1x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB

Standard Factory Cooling & Heatsink

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Total price is $1503 will be buying with PayPal soon. Good deal? Comes with 24" monitor, and keyboard/mouse.

What are your theoretical opinions - how will it run in a payware aircraft (PMDG 737NGX) at pay ware airport (LatinVFR TJSJ) with high settings, REX, Shade, etc? FPS...

Looking forward to feedback, suggestions, etc

Sorry, but you've got some entry level components in that config...

A $70 motherboard.. better an Asus Z87-A or Pro (at $150).

If you can upgrade the video card to a 760, I would pay the difference.. the 750 is an entry level card.

Not sure how you get to 4.4 GHz with "standard cooling and heatsink" though..

4.0 maybe, but 4.4??

Even at 4.0,  that configuration (on a Z87 motherboard and a 760) will run FSX quite well!

Updated to Z97 Plus, would the GTX 750 Ti have a major difference from the 760 in terms of performance or graphics capability?

Update: I opted for the 760

If your budget allows it, got for one or two ssds like the crucial m500 or samsung eve (one for windows, on for Flight Sim)
