With all the new ultra-high bypass and super quiet new turbofans (GENX, GTF, Trent 1000 etc.) being produced, I was getting more and more annoyed at the lack of sound from these engines. Yes, they certainly are audible. But there is far less definition to the sound of them. For example, there is no dramatic spool-up topped off with a head-wrecking buzzsaw sound, like on an RB211.

 However, I was quite surprised to hear the A350's TrentXWB engines do sound pretty darn good! The high power growl makes me shudder  :lol: Have a listen for yourself
