Had I been the person on the beach it would've been just my luck luck to sit up at just the right / wrong moment and received a new style hair cut!

If you watch the video again, you will see the shadow of the a/c go right over the guy. That's pretty conclusive that this was not an effect of depth of field or long optics. The nose wheel almost hit the guy's head and some part of the plane did hit the fence.

Thanks for the affirmation Tom. That's the way I saw it also. I do question my judgment once in awhile just to keep myself in line (well at least I try).

 

My worst sunbathing / beach experience: A pelican playing bomb the human, dead on target! I made it to the water at a gallop.

It looks like to me he had plenty of time to apply power if there was really a downdraft or something. His approach seemed stable, but the end of the glide was kind of above the poor guy relaxing under the sun hahahaha

He apparently was interviewed by German TV and admitted that he under shot the approach.

That explains it then. Glad nothing worse happened. People really shouldn't be allowed that close to the end of the runway.
