New CPU for FSX

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I wanna buy a new computer for FSX:

1) ASRock Z87 EXTREME4, Z87, DualDDR3-1600, SATA3, GBLAN, RAID, ATX (Z87 EXTREME4)

2) Intel CORE I5-4670K 3.4GHz LGA1150 BOX HASWELL - (BX80646I54670K)

3) Kingston HyperX 2x4GB 1600MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 Intel XMP X2 Grey Series (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX)

4) SilentiumPC Gladius M40 Pure Black ATX/USB3.0/SSD ready/3x120mm bez zasilacza (SPC077)

5) GeForce GTX 770 MSI 2GB 2xDVI&HDMI&DP (PCI-E) Twin Frozer z NVIDIA GeForce Experience

6) CPU Noctua NH-D14 SE2011

7) Be Quiet! Pure Power BQT L8-CM-630W, 80 plus BRONZE, activePFC, 4xPCI-E (BN182)

8) Plextor SSD 2,5" 128GB 520/200 MB/s 70k IOPs

9) Seagate 2 TB Barracuda (64MB, SATA/600)

I will use Windows 7 x 64 Ultimante. Plextor SSD will be used only for system and programs, for FSX will be user Seagate disc.

I want to overlock CPU (maybe 4,5 GHZ ???) - It is chance for good result in FSX? I expect 30 fps during approaching to Aerosoft EHAM in PMDG 737 NGX (and 777 as well). I will be use Real Environment Xtreme 4 - Texture Direct, UTX, EZdok Camera, FSDT Ground Services, FTX Global, WOAI.

Why not get the new i5 4690K its the same price but faster and has a better TIM for overclocking or if your willing to spend an extra $100 get the I7-4790k its base clock is 4ghz and it turbos to 4.4 stock most people are getting 4.7- 4.8ghz overclock with them.

You are right - i5 4690K is better choice. I will get it. :)

And a little change - i won;t buy SilentiumPC Gladius M40 Pure Black ATX/USB3.0/SSD, I will get SilentiumPC Gladius X60 Pure Black.

And CPU Noctua NH-D14 without SE2011 (isn't for Socket 1050).

Anything else? :)

I would look into the Z97 boards as well
