June 16, 201411 yr I'm not trying to start another poop-fest, so please forgive me if this is inappropriate to ask. Was it ever revealed who had made the purchase? I haven't seen any news.
June 16, 201411 yr There is no news on the sale and it could stay like that for a year or two until who ever brought it has something to show the world. -Paul-
June 16, 201411 yr I'll admit, i don't know squat about how big buisiness operates, but as a publically owned company, don't they have to inform their stock holders when they sell 'something', belonging to the company, for what was implied as a large sum of money? I searched all kinds of online buisiness news journals and there is nothing out there.

Given Microsoft's scale that would likely need to be a nine or ten figure sum. Besides, if it's just a license sale then they're not actually selling an asset - Microsoft licenses stuff thousands of times a day and has no requirement to report their individual sales transactions.
