June 27, 201411 yr I've always had better FPS in windowed. Add to that, that my machine doesn't like FSX in full screen for some reason.

July 3, 201411 yr Author I think, by the post above, that this is yet another quirk of FSX. As with all things FSX, it all depends on your system, your settings, your config and sceneries. One thing that I have realised with FSX is that there is no hard and fast rules with how it works, this is why there are so many different opinions (and arguments) over which tweaks to use and how a certain addon works. The only thing I can say is that you have to work on what works with you, don't try and compare your frame rates with anybody else and then it's a case of trial and error to find the best settings for you and your system. Isn't FSX a wonderful piece of programming. True but I just found something very odd about this, no matter what aircraft I use I still get 30 in full screen as opposed to say 60 with the glider on windowed mode with the nvidia inspector fps to 60, but again same fps with the pmdg and with the default glider on full screen, how is this possible? If feels like something is limiting it but what could it be? Maybe I could even get better fps in full screen if I figure this out but I have no idea, the fsx fps limit is set to unlimited and don't know what else to check. Francisco Perez

Maybe you installed the limiter that Ryan recommended in the post about tweaking FSX and just forgot about it? Cristi Neagu
July 3, 201411 yr Author Maybe you installed the limiter that Ryan recommended in the post about tweaking FSX and just forgot about it? And how is it called/where can I find it? I use the nvidia inspector thou so that might be what you mean but I already tried turning it off. Francisco Perez
