July 19, 201411 yr Good morning there! In the last time I have seen some offers from private simmers who want to sell ORBX software like FTX Global. In fact that are download products and I would really like to know if it is legal for me to buy one digital copy? Do ORBX allow that? Would be really good because it is a bit too expensive to buy it "new".
July 19, 201411 yr The EULA sort of states that you don't 'own' the digital copy...but have purchased a license to use it on YOUR computer. I don't believe that you can 'post' your download license to another, for you don't own the coding...therefore, can't assign it to another. Also, the key to run the installer is only for the download purchaser. You'd have to purchase your own key to unlock the installer. I could be wrong, but think that I am right. Contact ORBX...to hear it from the 'horses mouth', if what you would like to do, is kosher by them. Your intention to save some money, is quite honest in nature...but for commerce...I don't think it will fly with ORBX. You might have to save up longer to garner the pennies....
July 19, 201411 yr I would be careful with purchases of download products from other sources than the "usual" resellers anyway: Who guaratees that the vendor has uninstalled his own copy and does not keep any of the associated files, which could make your purchased copy look like (perhaps it even is) a pirated product when installed on two different machines at the same time? Plus, aren't the license keys linked to an email adress when you buy from the FlighSimStore? As sesquashtoo has said, best thing to do is to contact ORBX. It would be very nice if you could post their reply here, though - this could be interesting information for others as well. Florian
