Nasty weather and Autothrottle woes

Featured Replies

ASN and this SP1 & 300er are so good we are actively chasing bad weather just to see the magenta on the ND. We are sad geeks but at least we admit it lol :)

I get a hard time in work for my passion (obsession) but it's from guys who play wow or lol. mmmm. I win every time :)

I found the AT to be quite poor at speed management in turbulence. I know many aircraft recommend the disconnection of the AT system in turbulence to prevent the AT system chasing airspeed.

I'm not sure if I have seen the AP system operating in turbulence mode, either. It did seem to just try and hold the attitude rather than the flight path, which I presume to be the turbulence mode (it results in a smoother ride vs. chasing the flight path).

I also question if the windshear detection is working - I should have encounterd it, but nothing.

Best regards,

Robin.

Just arrived at WMKK. Terrible weather, scary landing. PMDG 777 + ASN = Awesomeness :)

Great shot, love the WX all lit up and pretty in those colours, it's always thundering in Asia, makes for interesting approaches.
