July 21, 201411 yr I looked all over the FSCom to find info about getting weather via the Datalink in flight. I was able to find it on the CDU and request it, but where do I retrieve the info or is it just a button that is simulated it. Thanks. Best Regards Adib Afraj
July 21, 201411 yr Adib, The first step is to enable all the options like it is in the supplement, which sounds like you have done all of that. Now, what you need to do is first get some weather into the sim. If you are like me and you are using FSGRW or ASN or something to that effect, it creates a WX file for you. Now, if you correctly configured all the setting like they should be in your FMC, you can go ahead and request only the route clearance. This will automatically trigger the request for winds (which you can find in the RTE DATA page, select to load and execute it, and it will also automatically trigger the performance data request, which is your simulated loadsheet information. You will also automatically receive your descent forecast information which you will load via the DES FORECAST option in the FMC. Hope this helps :-). Kind regards. July 21, 201411 yr If you set it up correctly as Werner described, you hit the "REQUEST" button. It will take a few seconds to send the request. Then the text "SENTREQUEST" will appear, meaning that the airplane is now waiting for a response from the dispatcher (obviously just a simulated waiting time). Then after a few seconds, you will hear a chime (Datalink data arrived), and the text on the CDU will change once more. Now you hit the LSK next to "LOAD" and after a few seconds your winddata will be stored into the FMC. You then confirm your changes by hitting EXEC. John Rubens

I believe this is all covered in the intro manual, which you should read. There are request options on the LEGS page (you have to click LSK 6R to get to the LEG DATA page first), the VNAV and DES FORECAST page. Press REQUEST>. Wait. When prompted, press ACCEPT>.
