July 26, 201411 yr I understand from your FAQ's page that P2ATC takes its wx info from an on-line,, real time source instead of directly from the sim. I fly using Active Sky Next wx, almost exclusively in the on-line, dynamic historical mode. Am I correct in my reading that at present there is no way to request a different runway for take off/landing from the one given you by the ATC controller? Historical wx can differ markedly from that being used in real time. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
July 26, 201411 yr Commercial Member Good question Dan. You are correct about the weather coming from NOAA, at present. I will be adding the option to use SIM weather in the future. In the mean time, you can simply request your runway when calling for Taxi/Takeoff and it will be assigned as the active. "Ground, Beech One Victor Bravo ready to Taxi to Runway XX" Also, when calling Approach Control or Tower for approach, request a specific Runway and it will be granted. "Approach, Beech One Victor Bravo Request Radar Vectors For Visual Approach to Runway XX" This should keep you out of trouble with the winds for now. Thanks, Dave
July 26, 201411 yr Hi Dave, Btw is the "Force Pilot Runway Selection" option in "Misc Settings" tab must be checked ? July 26, 201411 yr Commercial Member Yes, checking "Force Pilot Runway Selection" in miscellaneous settings will give you the requested runway regardless of winds. Without that checked, you can get the requested runway as long as wind is below 10 knots or less than 90 degrees of headwind. Thanks for pointing this out Richard. Dave
