FSX CTD

Just  was on  descent into DTW from MCO and FSX crashed  read A Fatal error has occurd event viewer showed this:

HERE IS THE FIX: You may have to take ownership of the files if windows stops you from deleting the file. Open CMD prompt and right click to run as administrator and then type in exactly as below substituting your windows login username where it says username:

takeown /f C:\Windows\System32\uiautomationcore.dll

cacls C:\Windows\System32\uiautomationcore.dll /G username:F

takeown /f C:\Windows\Syswow64\uiautomationcore.dll

cacls C:\Windows\Syswow64\uiautomationcore.dll /G username:F

Now you can just navigate to your syswow64 and system32 folders in windows explorer and after backing up the UIautomationcore.dll files just delete them from your computer. (Remember to delete the Uiatomationcore.dll file in ure FSX folder also if you installed it as the fix in other posts.)

     Click the run button and open the Control Panel

2.     Browse to the section of System Maintenance then to the System

3.     At the left side, select Advanced System Settings link

4.     In the System Properties Window the top section is named as Performance with the Settingsbutton. Click this button.

5.     Choose the Data Execution Prevention tab.

6.     Select the option which reads Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.

7.     Use the Browse button to locate the executable file for the application you were trying to start when you received the StackHash error, and click Open to add it to your exceptions list.

8.     Click Apply or OK to commit your changes

Also did HIGHMEMFIX=1 in my fsx cfg

You should try the guidance in the AVSIM CTD Guide, located to the right of this forum under Hot Spots. For instance, does the AppCrashView program show anything different? Did you rename or move your FSX.cfg to a temporary folder, restart and let the config rebuild? Did you disable all of your addon scenery?

This recommendation is absolutely insane!!! You never delete system files. The uiautomationcore.dll is part of the Microsoft.net framework programs. You need to scan your system for missing system files - http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/3047-sfc-scannow-command-run-windows-8-a.html .

 

If you are getting the StackHash crash, then you need to look in the AVSIM CTD Guide for the solutions on fixing this problem. See page 7. If you have MyTrafficX installed, disable it in the Scenery Library and see if this fixes the problem.
