Landing AI Leaving Runway at wrong Exit

Featured Replies

Hello all

This problem actually relates specifically to Aerosoft's Corfu X, but so far, I had no luck on their forum.

After landing, AI are leaving the runway at the first exit when in fact, they should continue up the runway and leave at the next exit. This causes a problem because the first exit is actually the entry point for departing AI to taxi onto the runway. The result being numerous 'nose to nose' stalemates.

Is this fixable in ADE, ie, can the taxiway onto the runway be made 'one way' so that landing AI cannot use it to exit the runway, but departing AI can use it to enter the runway ?

Many thanks

Gary

You can have the taxi links only connect to the runway link near the runway threshold. So it would end up going onto the runway then follow parallel to the black runway link then connect only near the end of the runway. That way when a plane lands it is unable to join that taxiway but would have to taxi further up the runway.

If you want to send me the ADE file I could try and fix it for you.

Hi Mike

Many thanks for your reply - done as you suggested and now AI is taxiing exactly as it should

Thanks again

No problem. Glad I could help!

It's a trade-off though as often this alternative keeps AI on the runway and ties it up.  This can be a head ache if AI flight models have been optimized for "stop on a dime" performance.  Also AI can back-track to a taxi exit in some layouts.
