August 22, 201411 yr Installed my ezdok on p3d 2.3 and ofc manually input all the entries for exe.xml.. the add-on loads up with p3d, but seems to get "stuck".. this is probably some kind of permission error, no prompt though. What it looks like: Something is stopping it from loading. Another evidence of this is because in-game, it doesn't even show up in the menu. I found a thread someone started on Microsoft's support site, but the reply he got was robotic and not helpful in any way: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-files/odd-permissions-behaviour/c0b3c201-3444-4eaa-bac7-5f0dc046bd40 I have 8.1 PRO, which is slightly more network oriented etc'. I think this maybe the main cause for this issue, as I see many people reporting ezdok to work just fine on their 8.1. My windows user is set to Administrator by default and UAC is turned off completely. My anti-virus real time monitoring is also Off. I made sure none of these can interfere so it's just this weird permission (most likely) issue.. wondered if anyone else encountered it because I couldn't find this exact issue on google search results. Thanks.
August 22, 201411 yr I have 8.1 pro too with similar settings (UAC, admin) and ezdok works just fine. I can't think any permission problems, unless ezdok isn't installed in some funny place in OS drive.
August 22, 201411 yr Author It's installed to it's default: Program Files (x86). I noticed Win 8.1 is posing permission trouble if even you're admin and uac is off.. how annoying. I guess my next try is installing it outside that folder.
August 24, 201411 yr You are not alone I have exactly the same issue. It use to work fine on my old PC but since replacing it 5 months ago I have never been able to get it to work. I have searched the web and cannot find anything that seems to fix this issue. I have now moved to "Opus FSI" Beta for camera views and personally I think Ezdok was easier to configure. I would still like to get Ezdok to work and I can only think that it is a clash of DLL or some hardware issue that is causing this. Regards Phil
August 24, 201411 yr By the way, did you install ezdok straight from Flight1 wrapper or from already extracted exe? If I remember correctly it needs to be installed alaways from the wrapper for it to work. Sounds silly, but if I remember correctly that is the way to install nonethless.
August 24, 201411 yr I´m not getting any error messages, but I dont get EZDOK in the addon menu from P3D. This did happen once before with P3D2.2, but I managed to get it fixed by a reinstall. But now with P3D2.3 I cant seem to get it fixed whatever I try. I dont run configurator and copy the additions to xml and cfg manually UAC disabled, install as admin, tried with and without EMT, but no luck... Cheers! Maarten
August 24, 201411 yr I have installed it many times using the wrapper and without with the same result.
