Viewing aircraft not on the "air traffic" list.

Featured Replies

I've wondered about this for years and have never been able to find a definitive answer.

When you right click your mouse, you see a menu with an "Air Traffic" option, listing all the planes in a certain radius of your present location.

The list is in alphabetical order and you can only see a partial list if you're at a busy airport. i.e. KLAX, KJFK etc.

Is there any way to view the rest of the aircraft that are in the observable area radius but not on the list?

Thanks..

I use Wolfgang Picheta's FlusiFix v5.0 (freeware).   In Panel.cfg - Radar retrofit,  you can install a radar (also serves as a TCAS) that will give all the information for the aircraft in your area (including its heading, altitude, speed, distance from you, and aircraft details).   When ATC gives me incorrect separation from other aircraft landing on my runway, I have time to plan some evasive action.   Anyway, lots to look at in this software.

If the aircraft is not listed in the 'Air Traffic' listing, the aircraft simply isn't being simulated in the sim. It is not possible to monitor aircraft outside of this viewable "traffic radius" :(.

I think UT2 has a little monitor app that allows you to pretend-follow aircraft (not in-sim) if they are part of the UT2 flight schedules.

EDIT: I miss-read the OP's post a bit. I see your wishing to view aircraft if the list is actually too long to entirely display in the menu.

Perhaps pressing 'A' when looking at the AI traffic cycles through them? Not sure though.

If you have the SDK installed you can view all traffic in the active AI area with the Traffic Toolbox Explorer.
