August 31, 201411 yr Well after awhile I'm back again!Been away from 'hardcore' simming since my old CTD thread http://forum.avsim.net/topic/400059-on-going-problem-with-windows-7/and received great support from Jim.Ive been doing long range flight in the NGX to test it. No online networks this time..... Yesterday I had the sim running well for a good 13/14 hours Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.61472.0, time stamp: 0x475e17d3 Faulting module name: MSVCR80.dll, version: 8.0.50727.6195, time stamp: 0x4dcddbf3 Exception code: 0xc000000d Fault offset: 0x00008aa0 Faulting process id: 0xefc Faulting application start time: 0x01cfc540a0958183 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exe Faulting module path: C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft.vc80.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.6195_none_d09154e044272b9a\MSVCR80.dll Report Id: 6d72df00-313c-11e4-9dc5-50e549efb008This CTD just happened in the NGX departing GCFV addon scenery with photoscenery have flown there alot before without any problems. The CTD happened passing about 1,000ft so a few seconds after takeoff.Hoping there is a magic quick fix RegardsJosh
August 31, 201411 yr The only known fix to this problem is to uninstall SP2 (go to the Add/Remove Programs and remove FSX Service Pack 2. It will not remove FSX, just SP2). Restart your computer. Reinstall FSX SP2. Restart your computer and then go fly. (Note: It should not change your fsx.cfg, your dll.xml, or your scenery.cfg but you might want to backup those folders just to be safe (do not delete them after you backup). The faulting module belongs to the correct version of Microsoft Visual C++2005 (SP1). I believe it is just telling you something was not installed correctly or in the manner the developer of the product wanted. This is why I suggest reinstalling SP2. Something probably went wrong when that was installed. There's your magic quick fix. Hope it works! Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! September 1, 201411 yr there just all lining up ready to crash your computer. Once you solve one the next one in line will crash it. i had all that trouble a while back! Vernon Howells
September 1, 201411 yr The ntdll.dll is an indication that something is amiss in one of your BIOS settings. Could be the CPU or DRAM voltages are too high or too low. If overclocked, you need to return to optimized defaults and see if this fixes the problem (some motherboards, like ASUS, give you the option to save your settings so, if you have this option, save them first then go back to the defaults.
