September 8, 201411 yr Cross posting between here and the Prepar3D forum. Wanted to do a clean install and downloaded Prepar3D_v2_Academic_2.3.11345.0_Full.zip.. Upon Unzipping with 7zip about 5 of the cabs failed the CRC check during unzipping Then I downloaded it again.. CRC Failures for different cabs this time.. MD5's are completely different for each. What it should be: b66a03700e610d6bf79d7c86e14c8dc2 My packet lose is fine.. Pinged Prepar3D.com 100 times Then Pingtest So is this the norm now for their delivery servers? It's mildly irritating. September 8, 201411 yr If you have 4 sticks of RAM try using only two, for both downloading, again, and unwrapping, then installing This worked for me before I upgraded everything
September 8, 201411 yr Author Ok.. Problem solved.. My very last far reaching out on a limb process of elimination solved this. Our gateway has 2.4GHz/5Ghz radios in it. I usually connect to the 2.4GHz due to the better range it has over 5GHz Our Gateways 2.4GHz radio isn't right. Comcast tech out on Thursday. We've had some problems with it randomly locking up.. ie: Can connect but there is no data throughput past the gateway. ie: Limited Connection.. Reset of the Gateway was the only solution to get data throughput on this radio again which lasts for about a day. So anyway.. What I did as a last resort was connect to the 5GHz radio instead and downloaded the same zip.. Unzipped flawlessly the first time.. The 5GHz radio even when 2.4GHz locks up still works.. Hence.. My idea to try a full download on that radio instead. Seems like even though their is no packet lose w/ the 2.4GHz radio, our Gateway isn't playing nice.. Or somehow, between the time I complained about this, and the time I tried the 5GHz radio instead their delivery servers solved whatever issue they had. September 8, 201411 yr "So is this the norm now for their delivery servers? It's mildly irritating." So, nothing wrong with LM's servers. When the MD's correct the download is correct. Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
September 8, 201411 yr Author "So is this the norm now for their delivery servers? It's mildly irritating." So, nothing wrong with LM's servers. When the MD's correct the download is correct. Annnnd the MD's for the first two downloads were not correct as I showed in the first post. Not really sure what the point of this post is but whatever floats your boat. And we will never know if it was me or LM servers. It was either a hiccup in their cloud delivery system or my Gateways 2.4GHz radio is truly corrupting data even though I've never had a single corrupt download in years and I regularly download very large files. September 8, 201411 yr The point is, You mentioned: "So is this the norm now for their delivery servers? It's mildly irritating." Your download CRC was wrong ....... the problem was on your end. Your PC was the problem ... the packet receiver. That's why they post the correct MD ... so you can verify what your PC received. Nothing wrong with the LM server.
