September 11, 201411 yr I set the trim wheel to align the dash line on the wheel to the small arrow on the case assuming this is the intended trim for takeoff. However, the aircraft takes off almost vertically and it is a struggle to get it under control. If I set the trim to just below the letter K then it appears to operate normally where normally=other airplanes. Two People(souls) on board 200 lb each. September 11, 201411 yr Well, then do NOT set it at that small arrow... ^_^ I had the same with that plane and I have it also with the Cherokee which I trim down quite a lot before take off or I fly straight to that stars. Anyway, I simply think that marking is the marking of the centre of the trimwheel and not the take off setting.
September 11, 201411 yr Author Hey, thanks... I really wanted to see if I was alone and in need of a reload. regards, Dick near Pittsburgh, USA
September 11, 201411 yr Ah, ok, well, no need for that. I just found this on the A2A forum: "The C172R tends to like to fly with a 'nose down' attitude when looking at the trim wheel. For take-off, it was suggested here, and I have adopted it myself, where I set the trim to a negative position around the bottom of the 'k' in the markings for TAKE-OFF'. That seems to be allot of negative trim, but I am told, it is very close to real on the real life 712R." So you were spot on with setting trim 'just below the letter K'! ^_^
September 12, 201411 yr I suppose that's the trim you need taking off without any flaps and without any passenger in the backseats.
