September 20, 201411 yr I'm also interested to see if there's much visible improvement over the 780ti. I just put mine on ebay so we'll see how much it fetches. At the price I might also be interested in doing 2 in SLI, and I'd also like to know if there's really much benefit in that.
September 20, 201411 yr How much better is the 980 over the 970 because like you are all saying, the price of the 970 is wonderful. I have a 580 right now and need to replace quite soon. Seems you can find overclocked 970's that will have similar base and boost clock speeds as some 980's. Looks to me the biggest difference between the two are the CUDA cores. The 980 has 2048 while the 970 has 1664. Is it done yet? When will it be released? Will it be freeware or payware? How much will it cost? Any updates on the progress? Will it work for Xbox? Can I be a beta tester? How's the performance in VR?
