Addons not being launched

Featured Replies

I have a strange problem lately with a few FSX addons - they show up in the Task Manager under "Processes" and not under "Applications".

Thus means that I cannot see the programs.

One is PFPX - I started it and no window shows up.

The other is EZCamera - though it is OK in the exe.xml, I cannot see it in FSX neither it is listed under addons in the FSX menu bar.

It seems that a Windows update or so has messed up my FSX! (Windows7, 64 bit).

Did anyone ever face such an issue? Any suggestion is welcome.

Thanks

Edmundo

Edmundo,

EZCamera or EZdok?

What is the name of the file that is in your Task Manager  Processes

Post a copy of your exe.xml file.

Hi,

Thanks for caring to answer.

It is EZcamera.

Thanks!

My exe.xml:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252"?>

<SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0">

  <Descr>Launch</Descr>

  <Filename>exe.xml</Filename>

  <Launch.Addon>

    <Name>Couatl</Name>

    <Disabled>False</Disabled>

    <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>

    <Path>fsdreamteam\couatl\couatl.exe</Path>

  </Launch.Addon>

  <Launch.Addon>

    <Name>Saitek DirectOutput RadioStack</Name>

    <Disabled>False</Disabled>

    <Path>C:\Program Files (x86)\Saitek\DirectOutput\SaiFlightSimX.exe</Path>

    <CommandLine>-run</CommandLine>

  </Launch.Addon>

  <Launch.Addon>

    <Name>EZdok camera addon</Name>

"It is EZcamera."

I do not know this software.

Also, I do not see it in your exe.xml.

I just need to verify this ... What is the name of the file that is in your Task Manager  Processes?

Edit:

Do you have any items listed listed under addons in the FSX menu bar?

Hi Vaughan,

EZdok camera is listed in the last part of the exe.xml. All other addons (such as Couatl from FSDreamTeam) show fine in FSX menu bar.

I am convinced that one of the latest WIndows update (that installed new MS. NET Framework versions) is the source of this problem - but not sure though.

If it was a windows update that caused it surely it would be happening for a lot of people. When you kill the process and restart the problematic programs what happens?

Edmundo,

I just did a Windows 7 update .. no problems.

"EZdok camera is listed in the last part of the exe.xml. "

Ok, I seen that.

"All other addons (such as Couatl from FSDreamTeam) show fine in FSX menu bar."

Ok, that means <Path>C:\Program Files (x86)\EZCA\EZCA.exe</Path> did not start.

And, that is why I asked:

What is the name of the file that is in your Task Manager  Processes?

Why not tell me? Prior you said it was ok there.

EZdok will not show up in the Task Manager Applications (running) until "after" it appears in the Addons Menu bar and it is activated (e.g selected / clicked on by you.

Many thanks Vaughan! I was able to fix the issue (...not sure how...). Things are now as they should be.

Kind regards
