September 29, 201411 yr I would like to recommend a few suggestions on light usage. Most airlines seem to use the following. Fixed Landing Light: On: When Entering a Runway, When Passing Through 18,000 MSL Off When Passing Through 18,000 FT MSL Retractable Landing Lights: On: When Entering a Runway, and when slowing below 250 KTS Off: When Passing through 10,000 FT MSL Runway Turnoff Lights: On When Entering a Runway, When Descending Below 18,000 MSL at Night Off: When Passing through 18,000 FT MSL Logo and Wing Lights: On: At Night on ramp and Below 18,000 FT MSL Off: Above 18,000 MSL Again these seem to be what most airlines use and 18,000 MSL seems standard, NOT 10,000 AGL Adam Ruemenapp
