Bloom not working correctly in v2.4

Just got it confirmed from Chris Bell.

LM is aware of it .

 

This is the issue : HDR checked and Tesseleration at max

That is odd, as my lighting (FTX lighting) looks like the top image in 2.4.. even with Tessellation at max. Is that Orbx lighting on your shots?

This is Night Environment...

 

Ah, okay.. if there is an issue it does not seem to affect Orbx lighting for whatever reason.

I don't think it has to do with bloom. If you take a good look, you can see that the runway lights look the same between 2.3 and 2.4, while only the Night Environment lights are affected.
 
My theory is that 2.4 reduced the size of those lights. The changelog says "Fixed an issue with particle effect scale being larger than intended", and in a thread at the Prepar3D forum someone complained that the beam on the rear of the aircraft became too small with 2.4, so I guess the same issue is going on with the Night Environment lights.

I wonder if this is the same issue I noticed with some afterburner effects that were rendered at approx half size?

I copied over the "ParticeDraw.fx" file in the ShadersHLSL folder from my 2.3 backup and the fx went back to the correct size.

According to Chris it was something in the code ( don't ask me what .. )

Changing bloom settings in SweetFx did not work either.

 

@Dave : could you email me that fx file from v2.3 ?

Or anyone else ?

Then I can try with that file.

Got the file from Dave, but unfortunately it did not make any difference.

So it's up to Chris an dthe LM team then.

I've noted the same issue with the T-38's can fire and AB effects in P3Dv2.4 as well. Funny how they claim that was a mistake, yet the same .fx files used for FSX/A and P3Dv2.3 were absolutely correct...
