October 5, 201411 yr When i exited FSX i got a CTD and it was unknown. what are the causes of these crashes? Vernon Howells
October 6, 201411 yr If you closed FSX in full screen mode, that was the cause. You have to go to Windowed Mode first and then shut down. Of course, it could be anything at shutdown as you are shutting down all of your addons too. So, the solution is to remove your dll.xml and put it safely in a temporary folder, disable all of your add on scenery, and move your fsx.cfg to a temp folder and rebuild the config. Now exit. Does it crash? Of course not. Now you need to find the culprit. Maybe move the dll.xml back into the proper folder, run fsx, exit and see if this causes a crash. If not, then it must be an addon scenery. Enable them 3-4 at a time until the crash returns. Of course it could have also have been caused by a tweak in your FSX.cfg. So, maybe just replacing the fsx.cfg without any of those strange tweaks would be the best method to fix your CTD's. Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource!
