October 9, 201411 yr Hi, 1) Could anyone tell me tge computers which are connected with the MMR's? FMGS, PFD.... What else? 2) Are the IRS/INS connected with the A/P? 3) The FMGS calculates pitch and bank angle. So are the IRS/INS connected with the FMGS to help to calculate these datas? Thanks Airbus A330-203
October 9, 201411 yr Okay here goes, There are 2 FMGC's (Flight Management Guidance Computers), The Master And Slave. Inputs are from ILS, Radio Altitude, VOR, DME, Data base, Clock, Fuel, ADIRS (Air Data Inertial Reference System), Thrust Levers. The FMGC's talk to/from the FAC (Flight Augmentation Computer Which handles things such as Yam Damping, Rudder Trim, Rudder Limiting, Flight Envelope Protection, and Speed Computation), FADEC (Full Authority Digital Engine Control), CPCU (Cabin Pressure Control Unit), EFIS (Electronic Flight Information System), Radio Navigation Auto-Tuning, ECAM (Electronic Centralised Aircraft Monitoring), the FCU (Flight Control Unit), and the MCDU (Multi Control & Display Unit). So essentially the FMGC's are the Autopilot and Brains of the Aircraft, Hope that answers your question.
October 9, 201411 yr Author Thanks for your answer! But my question is more about GPS IRS/INS! By the way, FMGS is connected to each and every computer. (A330: PRIM and SEC- A320: ELAC FAC SEC) for the hydraulics jack. Thanks to answer my questions Regards Airbus A330-203
October 9, 201411 yr This might help, a picture speaks a thousand words straight from the FMS manual, the 3 ADIRS are what you were after....
October 10, 201411 yr Sara, are you a real world Airbus pilot by any chance Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering
October 10, 201411 yr Sadly, no lol. I am how ever a certified aviation nut with an extensive library Oh, and regarding the GPS, in this setup, GPS 1 feeds into ADIRS1, GPS2 feeds into ADIRS2, GPS 1 also feeds into ADIRS3 under normal conditions
October 10, 201411 yr Author Thanks Sara, Are the side sticks also connected to the trim wheel? Thanks Airbus A330-203
October 10, 201411 yr Thanks Sara, Are the side sticks also connected to the trim wheel? Thanks The side sticks are connected to this plane the same way as your joystick is connected to your computer.
October 10, 201411 yr Author Euh... So do you mean that the side stick are connected to the trim wheel? Of course, below 50ft or 100ft it is direcetly connected with the ELAC... Thanks to confirm Airbus A330-203
October 10, 201411 yr Euh... So do you mean that the side stick are connected to the trim wheel? Of course, below 50ft or 100ft it is direcetly connected with the ELAC... Thanks to confirm The joystick is connected to a computer. The computer is connected to the flight controls, such as the THS.
