April 17, 200521 yr Hi all...after recently picking up a couple of excellent payware purchases (the Dreamfleet Bonanza A36 and the Level D 767-300) I'm looking at the Lago Maddog 2004 package. I'm an MD-8x fan, and the VA I fly for (Delta Virtual) uses the MD-88 a lot, so this caught my eye once I heard it was out. Does anyone have any opinions on it, good bad or indifferent?Lewis "Moose" GregoryRichmond, Virginia Lewis "Moose" Gregory Durham, North Carolina
April 17, 200521 yr some people think its good...myself..i hated it..wouldn't buy another LAgo product again..3 patches later..still can't come close to Dreamfleets 727.also have the LDS 767..fantastic..there are other MD's in the pipeline.honestly ,i would wait.now if Dreamfleet,PMDG,PSS or LDS were to make the Md80's...i would be first in the queue.sorry for the negative post...of course this is only my opinion..others might disagree.there is another MD80.can't think what its called at the moment.it has a basic model but the panel is supposed to be very good...No vc tho best wishes steve
April 17, 200521 yr Re 3) I have both (LAGO & MDMax)I bought MDMax the first day it was released and made a huge mistake (as always ;-) ). MDMax was rushed to market 2 days before LAGO was released. So far only 1 patch has been released (version 0.95, the number says it all) and it sure needs another or 2 patches.FMC (another extra 15 Euri) was promised to be released by the end of februari and we are now 3 months further, still no FMC....If I had to choose between MDMax or LAGO it still would be LAGO although they have their share of problems too.System wise MDMax may be (marginally) better, but the overall package of LAGO is better and much cheaper. April 17, 200521 yr You can always buy just the Jet City planes for a lot less money and get an excellent freeware MD80 panel like Leon Seale's FS2004 re-works of Paul Golding's excellent panels. THAT's a package! I use PMDG, Level-D, PSS/iFDG merges and Dreamfleet but when I need an MD80 fix, the Jetcity planes and the freeware panels are just the ticket. If Lago really gets their panel in shape I may purchase it then.Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
April 17, 200521 yr OK, so Lago's MD-80 is not perfect like Level D, but it's not bad, but use Lago for the panel and add it to the JetCity line of models and liveries, excellent!, not to mention the little hyped JetCity baggage and Catering trucks for each model and livery. It's a great combo. Unfortunately, avoid MDMax for now. SUPERIOR panel in MDMax that is too proprietary to add onto anything.Randy Jura, KPDX
April 17, 200521 yr Yes I would say that after all the patches the LAGO MD80 is not worth the price and is far inferior to the dreamfleet 727 and the LD 767. Do NOT get it...I have gotten it, along with the JCA models (because the lago model is not at all nice) it cost me quite a bit...In the end I wish that I'd stayed out of this.Wait to get the Tristar of Pilots or the HErcules of Captain Sim and maybe the PC12 too...Save your money...
