Howard & Zoran, it is true that the earlier versions of  Megascenery were much better quality. Take Oahu as an example. I don't know how much spare time you guys have, but even their high res offerings have strange colors in some spots. Personally as I said previously, I rather use their whole state/country offering and create for myself ultra high res imagery for a 70 mile radius around any payware airport or high quality freeware so that it then blends with either Megascenery or Aerosoft, and by doing it like that you can have at least seasons on approach. I will try to post a screenshot later today to illustrate my point.

About a year ago I got quite involved making my own photo scenery using Gimp and a number of other programs but in the end although it was rewarding and I was slooowly getting a handle on it but as you say its very time consuming however come to think of it cities wouldn't be that hard as there is not a lot of water masking.

 

Again one needs to weigh up the time factor and at $ 10-15 (after discount) its so convenient just to hit a button  :rolleyes:

However I would really like to see what you come up with and also how long it took
