Should you always update nvidia drivers?

Featured Replies

I'm still using the same drivers that I installed when I built my system a year ago. I have some minor issues in fsx -- lakes shimmer in cloudy conditions sometimes -- but nothing major. Since reinstalling nvidia drivers and resetting inspector settings can be cumbersome, I've kept it as is. My big worry is updating to the latest greatest drivers and having major issues. If it ain't too broke, don't fix it.

Should I stick with these minor issues or go ahead and update?

PS since I only use my win7 box for fsx, I haven't updated win7 updates either. Is this bad?

No need to update driver, but I would apply all security updates, if I were you..

I'm using old nvidia drivers because the new ones were causing hard crashes in x-plane and graphics clipping issues in p3d
