Halong Bay, Vietnam. Does it exist?

Featured Replies

Halong Bay is amazing with all its many small characteristic islands, but is it available in FS? Would be great if it was. A shame if it wasn't.... if so.... Holger? New project? Hehe. And while I'm at it; what about the Chinese Wall....?

Ok... the original post is from 2005 (member joined in 1970.. I didn't know Tom was doing this that long! LOL :) ) and there was no FSX back then. But wait... it gets better... The reply poster is a member for 3 years, never posted until today and they resurrect a 9yr old thread! :) And the files in the library are from 6th January 2014.

Maybe I will go for an hypothesis that may dispell the nascent conspiration theory.

Let say a gentleman named Jean-Pierre Filion for instance did finish in January a Halong scenery after visiting this wonderfull part of the world. He was not active on Avsim forum a lot but uploaded his scenery as well as other before on Avsim.

When searching the forum for "halong" , he found somebody needing this precise scenery without noticing it was a very old thread. Then Jean-Pierre always helpfull pointed him to his new scenery.

Haven't talk to Jean-Pierre in a while but here is the link of our flight with C-GDXL to scout the Iles-aux Grues island CSH2 in the middle of the St-Lawrence river to prepare this airport scenery (look for cse5-csh2-archipelmontmagny_294049.zip in Avsim library). You will even notice my cherookee DXL on the parking at CSH2, a nice touch from him, that I much appreciated. Jean-Pierre who is also a prolific nature film maker posted this one on youtube a couple of year ago after our flight.
