Question about TrackIR 5

Featured Replies

I got this few days back and I must say the experience is amazing.

However I had a question regarding operating the FMC, overhead panel and pedestal on commercial jets. Do you guys switch views to operate them or do you manage to twist around in the main VC view?

I find it almost impossible to use them in the main VC view.

Are you using the pro clip? I found that I had a bit more range with it, but it's broken now so be careful with it if you have it.

My setup now couples TrackIR with Ezdok. I will have 3 or 4 views programmed with Ezdok. Ezdok allows you to specify if you want TrackIR on or off for each view. So if the view is on the CDU, I will choose to disable TrackIR so that the screen is steady (you could also just pause TrackIR, but I prefer this feature). Generally for the pilots view, overhead and the center console, I will leave TrackIR on so that I can get in close and just have to look around a bit. It works well for me as I never really have to move my head too much and I can leave the TrackIR settings closer to 1:1.

Thanks, got it.

I have the regular clip and use Opus FSI for camera control. Guess I still have to switch views. I was thinking if it was feasible to operate everthing in one main VC view, then no need to switch, but looks like it will not work.

Most of the commercial jets addons provide pop up of the FMC, so I prefer that option rather changing views. The overhead and radio is something i can handle.

On same planes I configured through FSUIPC some buttons for openening new views for various instruments.

Bought it months ago, tried to use it for a few weeks but gave up. The motion makes me giddy. I don't even know where it is at the moment, biggest waste of money that I have ever bought.

Ya, I have read the motion sickness feedback from others. Thankfully for me there is no issue.
