Landing Autobrakes and Throttle Position

Recommended Posts

While landing I have the Speedbrakes Armed prior to landing and as expected they deploy when the reversers are activated during the landing roll.  However, if I increase the throttles very slightly so I can continue taxying off the runway the Speedbrakes move to the OFF position.

According to FCOM 2 page 9.20.18 they should remain UP unless either thrust lever moves to the Takeoff Position, so this shouldn't happen.

In settings I have the 'A/T Manual Override' function to Never so my joystick doesn't interfere with any Autothrottle function.

Is this a bug or am I missing something ?

The spoilers deploy when the main gear touches down (not tilted anymore).

I am not sure where exactly the N1 takeoff range starts....but it is not full thrust.....more like somewhere in the first 1/3 I think. The takeoff warning config also uses this range by the way.

I have not checked at what N1 setting the spoilers retract if the thorttles are advanced.....there might be a discrepancy there....but what is the problem you are having?

If you are advancing the TL to maintain taxi speed (which is weird by the way.....are you doing a full stop on the rwy?) then you are so slow that the spoilers are not effective anyway, so the they might as wel retract no?

Its not normally a problem but I'm testing something for the next version of FS2Crew where the FO starts his 'cleanup' flow, but if I move the Thrust Levers very slightly forward during the Landing Roll it closes the Spoilers triggering the FO's flow too early.

It may just be my Joystick (X-55) too sensitive but the N1 also doesn't seem to move much before the Spoilers close.

The X-55 uses a very awkward way of setting the throttle, at least as compared to most throttle axes, which are actually multiple sliders. The X-55 actually uses an XY plane exactly like the stick, which can often throw the sim for a loop, even if only momentarily. For your best mileage, open the X-55 software, go to Settings, and run the throttle through its full range of motion. That seems to make things more precise for me (I have X-55s as well). I haven't had any issues with this at all, either, and I flew the 777 a bunch for the FS2Crew Beta and another project that I'm working on. Are you using and custom mappings via FSUIPC?

Looks like you and I are apparently doing the same thing, actually (testing-wise)...
